PROCESS DESCRIPTION
The Finance San Antonio Committee, in conjunction with the City of San Antonio Economic Development Department and various partners, will analyze a combination of quantitative data sets and driver-industry work-group priorities to fulfill its charge of recommending strategies to the City of San Antonio City Council on the marketability and development of the finance industry in San Antonio.
The following four steps are a summary description of the process that will provide the basis for the initiative recommendations to City Council and provide the industry input necessary to supercharge our local finance industry and strengthen the capacity of each our San Antonio's Driver Industries related to the San Antonio, Inclusive (SA, Inc) Strategic Plan for Enhanced Economic Development :
COMPONENT 1:
The City of San Antonio Economic Development Department
and ICF Consultants will perform quantitative
industry analysis of the current structure, supply, and demand within the finance
industry to provide a framework of characteristics and performance over the
last ten years.
COMPONENT 2:
Critical to promoting a healthy financial services
infrastructure for all industries, is the driver-industry workgroup sessions.
These sessions will give driver-industry leaders an opportunity to discuss and
prioritize the range of financial challenges faced in the operation/expansion of
their company.
COMPONENT 3:
Finance Industry leaders will be brought together, by
industry area, to discuss competitive development challenges such as human resources, innovation, physical infrastructure, governance, quality of
life, and
marketing. They will collaborate to prioritize challenges and define potential
actions.
COMPONENT 4:
ICF Consulting and the City of San Antonio Economic Development
Department will complete opportunity identification through review of the supply,
demand, and segment-by-segment gaps identified throughout this process and
the Finance San Antonio will review and shape final recommendations on the
marketability and strategies for industry development.
